Urs von Arb appointed as new Head

There will be a change in School Management at Stiftsschule Engelberg at the end of the current school year. Tobias Barmettler is leaving the school after many years of dedicated service to take over the management of the Nidwalden secondary school from the coming school year. The Engelberg Monastery and Stiftsschule Engelberg would like to thank him warmly for his great commitment and valuable work.

Abbot Christian Meyer has appointed Urs von Arb as the new Head. Urs von Arb will take office on 1 August 2026 and is already involved in the ongoing strategy development. The Benedictine monastery and Stiftsschule Engelberg are delighted to welcome Urs von Arb, an experienced personality, to the tradition-steeped school.
