In the community hour last Thursday, April 30, 2026, the school community of the Stiftsschule Engelberg said a ceremonial farewell to the Matura class in the student chapel.
Benjamin Ledergerber, head of the school pastoral care group, picked up on the theme of their A-level brochure “Schwurbler” and philosophized about the meaning of the word. Abbot Christian Meyer gave the students the Benedictine Rule of the Day, which deals with good and bitter zeal (RB 72), and presented them with an Engelberg edition of the Benedictine Rule.
The young people from the music elective supported the school community in song. And during “May the road rise”, a certain sentimentality could be seen in one or the other – after all, this was their last school service.
The Stiftsschule Engelberg wishes the Matura class every success in the IB and Matura examinations.
“May the stars illuminate your nights.
May the flowers bloom along your path,
Your house stand firm against the storm.
And until we meet again,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you
In the palm of His hand.
And until we meet again,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you
In the palm of His hand.”
