Farewell to Tobias Barmettler

After 15 years at Stiftsschule Engelberg, Tobias Barmettler is embarking on a new path

After a total of 15 years at Stiftsschule Engelberg, Tobias Barmettler will leave the school at the end of the school year and assume the position of Head of School at Kollegi Fidelis in Stans effective August 1.

He began his career at the Stiftsschule as a physical education teacher. After just three years, he also took on the role of Deputy Head of School, a position he held for nine years with great dedication and a high degree of professionalism. In this role, he played a key role in shaping the school’s development and worked under four different Heads of School.

After his election as Head of School, Tobias Barmettler led the Stiftsschule with great reliability, foresight, and compassion. His leadership style was characterized by openness, a willingness to engage in dialogue, and respectful interactions with all stakeholders. Students, teachers, staff, and parents appreciated his approachability and his ability to remain calm even in challenging situations and to find viable solutions.

As an educator and principal, he was always committed to supporting people, recognizing their potential, and fostering their growth. His dedication to the Stiftsschule went far beyond the scope of his official duties. With great work ethic, a strong sense of belonging, and a keen sense of responsibility, he contributed significantly to the school’s positive development.

The Stiftsschule Engelberg extends its heartfelt thanks to Tobias Barmettler for his many years of extraordinary dedication to the school and its community. We wish him much joy, success, and fulfillment in his new role at Kollegi Fidelis in Stans, as well as all the best for him and his family.
