Last Thursday, the Stiftsschule Engelberg received a special visitor: former student Anna-Sophia Spieler returned to her former school and spoke about her personal and professional career during the whole-school assembly in the theatre hall.
Anna-Sophia Spieler left the Stiftsschule in 2015 as one of the first graduates with the double degree of bilingual Matura and International Baccalaureate (IB). Having grown up in Engelberg, she went on to study at the University of Lucerne. There she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Law, followed by a Master of Law and an additional Master’s degree in Health Policy.
She gained a wide range of practical experience during her studies – including in gastronomy and sales – and later worked as a legal assistant in a law firm. At the same time, she became involved in politics: initially on the board of the Young Liberals of the Canton of Lucerne, she is now managing director of the FDP.Die Liberalen Stadt Luzern (Liberal Party of Lucerne).
On stage, Anna-Sophia Spieler impressively demonstrated that the path to studying law is not just about dry theory. She dispelled common myths about studying law and was open and committed to answering the students’ interested questions.
