On Friday, June 13, 2025, the Matura class 2025 of the Stiftsschule Engelberg celebrated their graduation in the monastery church of Engelberg.
In his speech, principal Tobias Barmettler emphasized the importance of respect and honesty – values that have accompanied the class throughout their time at school.
Musical contributions came from Léon Beaudouin (violin), Justus Härer (saxophone) and Alexandre Preiswerk (piano). The class also performed the song “Hall of Fame”, while Eva Melega and Sophia Ziegler looked back on their time at school.
Class teacher Frank Emde spoke about the class motto “Mystery” and the graduates’ career goals – including medicine, law, psychology and journalism. The class average is 4.74, which is slightly above the long-term average, as Martin Röthlisberger from the school-leaving examination board explained. The best student in the class was Sherina Nobert from Engelberg with a grade of 5.71, followed by the two internal students Alexandre Preiswerk (grade 5.32) and Justus Härer (grade 5.18).
Councillor Christian Schäli compared orientation in life to a compass: the direction is shown by the instrument – you choose the path yourself. After the presentation of the certificates, the ceremony concluded with an aperitif offered by the Alumni Stiftsschule Engelberg.
