The New School Year Has Begun!

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Abbot Christian Meyer opened the new school year.

Previously, the school community had already gathered in the theater hall, welcomed the new students of the 1st UG and the other classes, and honored the jubilarians among the teachers.
Deputy Head of School Roger Gasser also informed them about the adapted regulations for cell phone use on school grounds, which caused quite a bit of whispering.

After a break with fresh Schulweggen (bread rolls) from the monastery bakery, students and teachers met in the monastery church.

In his sermon, Abbot Christian reminded the school community that a new school year is always full of surprises. Every day is an invitation to discover new things, ask questions, and find answers together. Just like the bag that he and the head of school pastoral care, Benjamin Ledergerber, had brought with them.
For example, with a magnifying glass, so that we can see the little wonders, the beautiful, the good in everyday life. Or a gemstone, which should remind us that we all carry a treasure within us, which should be brought into the school community and brought to life. With the rose, Abbot Christian once again made the connection to the closing service of the past school year. The rose stands for beauty, but also for fragility if we do not care for it.

We wish all students a good and successful school year!
